2024 Beekeeping: Is Ir Right For You
Beekeeping: Is It Right For You
The Fall Seminar "Beekeeping: Is It Right For You" was a success. Twenty-four individuals attended the three-hour informational seminar held at the L.W. Paul Farm in Conway.
All participants received a clear understanding of the fundamentals of the science and art of beekeeping. There were displays of tools required, however due to the weather no observation hive was present.
Topics included requirements of time and materials to help ensure a successful experience in beekeeping. Information was given regarding the products produced by the colonies that benefited man.
There was a strong focus on the benefits to the environment from becoming a beekeeping including enhanced vegetable and flower gardens. This was a fun experience for all whom attended. Some decided to become members and/or signed up for the January "SC Certified Beekeeper" six-week class.
The members who presented were George Baker, Rick Vereen, Mike Macri, Jacky Walton, Karen Hilburn, and Stan Janiak. Other supporting members attending to help answer questions were Tom Cooke, Patty Hendrick and Jr. member, Isabelle Ludwick.
Photos were by member Chuck Stokes.
There will be repeat of this seminar on January 11, 2025, for those who could not attend. Details will be posted on the Website. 🤠
